DiamondBack Beer Summer Content

Since early this year, I have been creating content on a regular basis for one of my favorite breweries in Maryland. The partnership with DiamondBack beer challenged me to revamp their digital presence by creating two different kinds of image assets, lifestyle and studio content. The main goal of this project is to shoot their beer in approachable and fun scenes to enhance their current ongoing marketing efforts.

Below are a few of my favorites.

LIFESTYLE CONTENT

As part of the lifestyle content deliverables, I shoot using the available natural light and take advantage of whatever is available on set. In some cases, I work away from the tap room in Baltimore, but more often than not, we tend to use the tap room to capture content.

The focus here is to highlight individual can releases or ongoing product efforts paired with a human element. We decided on a few ongoing options from shoot to shoot to make things consistent across the products.

STUDIO CONTENT

Before our partnership began, DiamondBack did not have studio quality assets at their disposal. This gave us plenty of options to pursue as the content developed. However, after trying a few things, we decided on a few different deliverables per shoot. These include a small gallery of product images on seamless backgrounds to highlight a human element, a four pack, a pour or a singular can; a poster style digital asset using one of the can images; and lastly a high quality png file for their use in further developing their own content in-house.

In contrast to the lifestyle content, I use my at home studio for these types of shots. This includes a variety of light modifiers and reflectors, paired with Elinchrom strobes to create the scenes as needed.

BONUS CONTENT

Lastly, as I find new ways to capture dynamic content for brands outside of standard video products, I have been creating animations out of photo bursts from the camera. This approach creates a unique outcome and is not too obtrusive during a photo shoot. As you may know, switching to shooting video can change your approach all together. While some clients may have the time and budget for this type of work, not all do. Hence why creating these animations has been a great way to add value to a brief shoot.
